Reeves earned degrees from the University of Cambridge and Boston University before completing postdoctoral research in the Heyendaal Program for Theology and Science at Radboud University in the Netherlands. He is the author of Redeeming Expertise: Scientific Trust and the Future of the Church (Baylor University Press, 2021) and Against Methodology: Recent Debates on Rationality and Theology (Routledge, 2018). He is coauthor of A Little Book for New Scientists (IVP Academic, 2016) and The Western Intellectual Tradition from the Reformation to the Modern Era: A Reader and Companion (Baker Academic, forthcoming 2025). His articles have appeared in Zygon, The Journal of Religion, Theology and Science, and several edited collections.

Reeves was awarded the Thomas Woolley Outstanding Scholarship Faculty Award from ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (2022) and a research fellowship at the Free University of Amsterdam (2018). He has also received more than $500,000 in grants from various organizations, including the Templeton World Charity Foundation and Templeton Religion Trust. He previously served as co-chair of the Science, Technology, and Religion Unit of the American Academy of Religion.

In his free time, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. They are members of All Saints Church in Homewood.
